The Age of the Democratized Lounge is upon us. While the legacy carriers and major airline alliances still dominate the airport lounge world, newer open-to-all lounges are spreading everywhere. Instead of buying a business/first class ticket or holding status that allows for lounge entry, this new class of lounges is available to anyone who wants to use them for a fixed price (and yes, most lounges operated by the big guys offer day passes, too, but they’re more expensive than these non-affiliated lounges). You may have read my previous story on the The Club at PHX, but now you can enjoy The Club at CVG, a new lounge from Airport Lounge Development, Inc.
Located in Concourse A between gates A8 and A10, travelers to CVG (serving Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky) can relax a little easier with the new 1,900 sq.ft. club offering wifi, snacks, and beverages (liquor’s included, too) for $35 a person. The club also welcomes members of Priority Pass, Priority Pass Select and Lounge Club, so if you’ve got a Chase Ink card, you can probably get in for free (assuming you haven’t already used your two free lounge entries for the year).
As far as the menu goes, expect:
·        Light snacks (granola bars, fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted cookies, cheese and crackers, assorted chips, hummus)
·        Assorted soft drinks and bottled waters
·        Coffee/Tea
·        Assorted Juices
·        Assorted selection of local and international bottled beers
·        Wines
·        Premium spirits
Next time you’re traveling through CVG, give it a shot and report back. I’d love to hear about your experience.
