So I was cruising around Twitter and came across this tweet from @steglobal (retweeted by Heathrow Airport):
Superb thought by Gordon Ramsey – @planefood in @HeathrowAirport have picnic boxes to takeaway in chill bags. BRAVO ! pic.twitter.com/4yYD41wQje

That. Looks. Awesome. Allow me to dissect the tweet for you: Celebrity chef/professional screamer Gordon Ramsay has a restaurant in Terminal 5 of London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) called Plane Food. They offer a “Picnic Menu” from 7am until 9pm for £12.95 ($21.64) and you get your choice of three courses: a starter, a main course, and a dessert. It all comes in an adorable insulated carry-on that’s yours to keep.
The menu itself looks great. It’s distinctly British with some Italian elements throughout. Start with a pancetta-and-egg laden Caesar salad or a plate of salumi and bufala mozzarella then continue on to some roast beef or smoked salmon before finishing with a cheesecake tart. It all sounds good to me. Menu is below. What would your three courses be?
Now that is something I would consider buying. Considering the lack of food in steerage on US flights I wonder how this would go over on our side of the pond?
Nice tip. Thank you. I don’t see how you could go wrong with any of the choices — and there’s the swell “lunch box,” too.
I wish our US airports would offer the same thing. Then I could earn bonus miles when using my registered cards at http://www.thanksagain.com at each of the airports in their network.
