Did you know that AARP, the American Association of Retired People, has 37 million members? Are you aware that AARP is one of the most powerful lobbying groups in the world? Did you know that AARP successfully created a law that requires at least one Denny’s in every American town? Okay, so that last one isn’t true, but man oh man is AARP bigger than I expected. That’s why I’m comfortable using them for a source on baby boomer travel, one of the biggest traveling populations in the world. Think about it: a ton of kids were born in the middle of the 20th Century and now they’re retiring with a career’s worth of disposable income. That’s why you’re seeing silver fox travelers with fanny packs and floppy hats all over the globe these days. AARP was kind enough to share with me their stats on the state of boomer travel and they even put it into a nice, tidy infographic. Now I’m sharing it with you. If you want to see the results of the full survey, go ahead and click right here. Enjoy!
