If you’ve never ventured outside of the bubble of American food television, then you probably think Heston Blumenthal is some sort of children’s author or a tech magnate. Not the case. While you were watching Guy Fieri get excited about cream of mayo soup, Blumenthal was well past making a name for himself as one of Britain’s most well-known chefs (The Fat Duck) and a bona fide television star.
In June, Blumenthal is opening up The Perfectionists’ Cafe in Terminal 2 of Heathrow (LHR). Like Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food, this new spot is going to offer high quality food for passengers sick of the trying to get excited about a pre-made Caesar salad. The menu isn’t set yet, but the emphasis in on getting you in and out efficiently so you don’t miss your flight.
Expect burgers, fish & chips, and pizza made from the very first wood-fired oven in an airport.
If you’re traveling through London in June, make sure to stop in and check out Heston’s new habitat (although it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be spending much time there himself).
