PGA TOUR Grill Now In Play at Honolulu International Airport
HMSHost and PGA TOUR open second airport location
HONOLULU, HI — Traveling golfers and fans of great food headed to Hawaii might be tempted to put their
hands together for a round of applause, similar to what’s seen from dedicated fans on the PGA TOUR.
Why? Well, seeing Honolulu International Airport’s new PGA TOUR Grill and tasting the food will conjure
feelings of relief and excitement – like when your favorite pro golfer sinks a winning birdie putt. This is the
second PGA TOUR Grill opened by global restaurateur HMSHost with partner PGA TOUR. “Eat Smarter,
Play Harder†is the motto of the PGA TOUR Grill, and to that a guest might add “travel betterâ€, because PGA
TOUR Grill in the airport is focused on providing delicious and healthy dishes for active people on the go.“We are so excited about providing this modern, yet elegant clubhouse-style restaurant for Honolulu
travelers to relax and enjoy a healthy meal,†said Anthony Alessi, Vice President of Business Development at
HMSHost. “The PGA TOUR has been an outstanding partner and we are very much looking forward to a
strong future together.â€Located at the airport’s Central Concourse Terminal near Gate 14, PGA TOUR Grill opened for service on
Friday, June, 13th inside and outside of the restaurant, PGA TOUR Grill provides a relaxed dining experience suitable for the nicest golf courses.“We are very pleased that the opening of the second PGA TOUR Grill is taking place at the Honolulu
International Airport,” said Tim Hawes, SVP of Retail Licensing for the PGA TOUR. “The PGA TOUR, in
partnership with the Friends of Hawaii Charities, Inc. and Sony Corporation has a long tradition of excellence
in Honolulu with the Sony Open in Hawaii and we are honored to have this fine restaurant join the fabric of
this area’s tremendous golf heritage. With our partners at HMSHost, we look forward to serving the travelers
in this airport for many years to come.”The PGA TOUR Grill’s menu was created with an emphasis on incorporating healthy ingredients like quinoa,
beans, arugula, and pomegranate into all of the dishes. This gives travelers seeking wholesome food an
easy choice when selecting where to eat. For example, signature oven roasted flatbread variations include
options like Habanero BBQ Shrimp, Veggie, Margherita, and Berry & Chicken. Hungrier appetites can
indulge in unique clubhouse creations such as the Power Burger (turkey burger), or the 1â„2 pound Punahele
Burger topped with melted Muenster cheese, crispy onions, baby arugula, red onion jam, and garlic aioli.
Hawaiian-inspired dishes are also infused into the menu so travelers will know for a fact that they are in
Hawaii. Some of these distinct regional dishes are the Waialae, a Kalua pork with crunchy tropical slaw,
crispy onions, and Hawaiian sweet bread; and the Kapolei, a sweet and spicy BBQ chicken sandwich with
provolone, and grilled pineapple on a toasted sesame bun.PGA TOUR Grill also offers many specialty cocktails like the GREY GOOSE 19th Hole, and the Hangar one
Chipotle Mary. On tap, travelers can choose from Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Shock Top White, Goose
Island IPA, and the big island’s own Kona Longboard and Kona Seasonal.HMSHost and PGA TOUR opened the first PGA TOUR Grill at San Diego International Airport earlier this
month.
